From Six Figures to Soul-Driven: Why The Parables Podcast Went Professional

Published on October 9, 2025

After five years and 84 self-produced episodes, The Parables Podcast has officially relaunched for Season 2—this time with professional production.

What began as a wildly successful passion project has evolved into Ejay Cruz’s modern-day ministry: meaningful conversations that inspire, challenge, and leave a lasting impact.

From Six Figures to Purpose

Ejay’s journey is one many creators can relate to. Coming from a nursing background, he reached six-figure success and stability in his career—but something was missing.

His true calling wasn’t in numbers or titles—it was in storytelling. Through real, raw conversations, Ejay found his purpose: inspiring growth, encouraging reflection, and making a difference in people’s lives.

Driven by determination, he taught himself every aspect of podcasting—from shooting and editing to publishing and building a loyal audience from scratch. But as any creator knows, passion alone can only carry you so far.

Why Professional Support Matters

Industry research shows that most new podcasts fade after just seven episodes—a phenomenon known as “pod fade.”Consistency takes time, effort, and the right systems in place.

Ejay realized that if he wanted The Parables Podcast to grow and reach its full potential, he couldn’t do it alone.

Then came a defining moment in his life. On December 23, 2020, Ejay experienced both heartbreak and hope: losing his mentor, Sam Bakhtiar, on the same day he welcomed his daughter, Gigi, into the world.

That day changed everything. His focus shifted from chasing success to building legacy—through his words, his work, and the example he sets for his children.

Finding the Right Partnership

To continue building that legacy, Ejay knew he needed to elevate his production and focus on what he does best—hosting meaningful conversations.

After exploring several agencies, he found his perfect match in California Talk Studio, based in Chino, California. “It was a match made in heaven,” Ejay shares.

With the studio handling production, editing, and distribution, Ejay can now pour his energy into curating powerful dialogues that move hearts and minds. Each episode reflects excellence, authenticity, and purpose.

More Than a Podcast—It’s an Experience

With the right team, a podcast becomes more than just a recording—it becomes a movement. Each story told on The Parables Podcast invites listeners to reflect on their own journeys, rediscover their purpose, and walk boldly in faith and truth.
